Walsh Construction completes renovation phase within the Oak Trace Senior Living Community Expansion Project
DOWNERS GROVE, IL – Walsh Construction joined Lifespace Communities, Greenbrier Development and SAS Architects & Planners to unveil the newly constructed spaces within the Oak Trace Senior Living Community's independent living building. The renovations are part of an overall $88 million expansion of the senior living community.
Designed by SAS Architects & Planners, Interior Design Associates, Scopos Hospitality Group and Steen Engineering, and built by Walsh Construction, the renovations modify and update multiple shared spaces, including a formal restaurant-style dining room, multi-purpose room, newly furnished library, art studio and a new bright and welcoming bar lounge.
The 13 month renovation project was completed in phases to allow residents continued use of spaces within the independent living building during construction.
Walsh Construction is also leading the final expansion phase of Oak Trace Senior Living Community's independent living, which is on track for completion in January 2024. This new construction phase will deliver two five-story residential wings, featuring 140 luxury independent living apartments, a state-of-the-art fitness and aquatic center, multiple dining venues, a spa and performing arts center.
This project adds to Walsh Construction’s senior living experience, which includes renovation and new construction in a variety of independent living, assisted living and skilled care facilities. The Walsh Group has completed more than $900 million in senior housing contracts, both for public and private clients.
