A graceful, modern structure connecting communities via a timeless link. The Milton-Madison Bridge is 1/2-mile long, weighs more than 16,000 tons, and was moved 55 feet laterally into place - making for a record-breaking construction feat. Signature activities included truss segment preassembly, float-in, strand lifting, explosive demolition of the existing truss, and eventually the lateral sliding of the completed bridge after the widening of existing pier caps.
