MODULAR CONSTRUCTION
DFW Airport - High C Gates Modular Construction
For the first time at a U.S. airport, six modules, constructed offsite, have moved a mile across the airfield to their home at the terminal, creating the new High C Gates at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
Archer Western Construction and DFW's project leadership team discuss the steps required to successfully deliver the project, which featured pre-fabricated modules, weighing 450 tons each, moving on self-propelled modular transporters and carefully maneuvering under the DFW Skylink train and lifting into place.
The completed terminal will accommodate five gates for narrow-body aircraft.
