Mother Nature Won't Stop Archer Western's Bridge Project in Atchison, Kansas

The new Amelia Earhart Bridge in Atchison, Kan., is close to opening its doors to traffic. When Roads & Bridges magazine visited the site in late Spring, prime contractor Archer Western and lead designer HNTB Corp. were making significant progress on the tied-arch structure, which will replace its 74-year-old predecessor.
