Energy Technology Center Wins Best Green Project
The Energy Technology Center at Tarrant County College in Ft. Worth, TX was awarded the Best Green Project of 2016 as part of Engineering-News Record's Regional Best Projects.
The facility houses a HVACR study program, as well as training programs for oil, gas and renewable energy technologies. The building itself is a teaching tool that allows observation of its inner workings and mechanics. Plumbing, electrical, mechanical and structural components are openly visible in strategic locations, giving students and visitors an opportunity to learn from the building systems on a daily basis.
The Energy Technology Center was built upon sustainable design and construction practices, and seeks to go beyond LEED Platinum with a goal of net zero energy use.
