Walsh Construction to Replace Kennedy Mill Bridge
Walsh Construction has been selected by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to replace the Kennedy Mill Bridge between Mercer and Garrard counties in Kentucky. The new $29.6 million bridge will be constructed over the course of two and a half years.
The existing 93-year-old bridge has been closed repeatedly in recent years for repairs due to deterioration. The 804-foot-long bridge is an important component to local travel across Herrington Lake, with 1,438 vehicles crossing the bridge per day in 2012.
The contract includes demolition and removal of the existing bridge.
