Archer Western’s David Pupkiewicz Receives the Design-Build Industry’s Highest Distinction

The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) has named Archer Western Construction’s, Manager of Alternative Pursuits, David Pupkiewicz as one of 20 industry leaders chosen as the 2018 inaugural class of DBIA Fellows. Designated Design-Build Professional™ Fellow status is the highest level of DBIA Certification and acknowledges the achievements of the nation’s most accomplished design-build professionals.

David Pupkiewicz is a passionate advocate for the proper use of design-build delivery. As Manager of Alternative Pursuits for Archer Western’s South Eastern and Mid-Atlantic Regions, Mr. Pupkiewicz oversees the pursuit phase of alternative delivery projects in the transportation and heavy civil markets. He has over 30 years of design and construction experience, the last 20 focused on delivering design-build projects. Mr. Pupkiewicz earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton and is a Designated Design-Build Professional. Along with being an active member of DBIA, Mr. Pupkiewicz proudly serves on the NCDOT and SCDOT Design-Build Subcommittees.

Elevation to Fellow status celebrates individual career achievements and promotes DBIA principles through the DBIA College of Fellows. DBIA Fellow status is limited to 2% of Designated Design-Build Professionals who are elected to Fellowship by a jury of their peers.

In order to be eligible for DBIA Fellow status, all Fellows met the following requirements:
- At least 10 continuous years as a Designated Design-Build Professional™, as well as 10 continuous years of membership in DBIA.
- Notable career contributions to the design-build profession
- Notable contributions to DBIA organization
- Election by the Jury of Fellows
- Continuous DBIA membership
