The Walsh Group prepares for an engaging Safety Week 2019
CHICAGO – Safety Week, a construction industry event dedicated to the education and celebration of safety in the workplace, takes place May 6-10 across the United States and Canada. The Walsh Group, a founding member of the Safety Week initiative, will be joining more than 70 other participating contractors in thanking their employees for their commitment to safety. The Safety Week partnership removes the competitive nature of business and embodies a collective dedication to the health and well-being of all workers.
"This is an exciting time of the year for the industry as we continue to celebrate and promote the most important message of all - safety," said Sean Walsh, managing director of The Walsh Group and chair of the firm's safety committee. "We are looking forward to an engaging environment across all of our projects; we want our workers to know that they are all empowered to make the right decisions and be leaders in protecting each other, their families and their communities."
The Walsh Group will be hosting events across all of its jobsites to celebrate and reinforce trainings, principles and practices that establish a safe working environment. The company's project locations and safety events include, but are not limited to New York City, Washington DC, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Seattle and Los Angeles. Guest speakers and executives will attend and speak about the status of projects and the unifying nature of safety.
Safe by Choice, the theme of Safety Week 2019, will shed light on the hundreds of choices made each day on the jobsite, and emphasize that none are more important than the choice to work safe.
Safety Week was founded by 12 major contractors that were part of the Construction Industry Safety Initiative (CISI) and who come together every other year for a two-day meeting to discuss safety. The goal of CISI is to influence not only those within their group, but others to work safely and elevate safety awareness to a new level in the United States.
