Walsh Construction completes The Paragon, 500-unit apartment tower in Chicago’s South Loop
CHICAGO – Walsh Construction has completed The Paragon, a 47-story apartment tower in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood. The $165 million high-rise was developed by Chicago-based Murphy Development Group in tandem with Los Angeles-based CIM Group and designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB).
The prominent glass high-rise stands out with a chiseled design and attention-grabbing angular cutouts. In addition to the exterior character, the beveled corners bring architectural variety to each residence. All 500 units feature floor-to-ceiling windows, offering views of the iconic Chicago Skyline, Grant Park and Soldier Field.
Each unit is also equipped with smart home features designed by IOTAS, giving residents complete control of temperature controls, door locks, and even customizable lighting to match the time of day wired with motion sensors. Additional amenities include an outdoor pool, a top-floor gym, coworking spaces and a dog run. T
The Paragon is the latest Chicago residential tower completed by Walsh Construction; the firm previously completed Alta Roosevelt and 1001 South State, both in the South Loop. In addition, Walsh Construction is currently building the 60-story Wolf Point East apartment tower in River North, Alta Grand Central in the South Loop and renovating the historic Tribune Tower into condominiums.
