The Walsh Group helps fight hunger with Food Lifeline, shatters fundraising goal
SEATTLE - The Walsh Group's Seattle office and its surrounding project teams joined Food Lifeline's Food Frenzy campaign to raise awareness and dollars to help end hunger in western Washington.
Food Lifeline is an organization that is committed to ending local hunger, and its Food Frenzy campaign is a fundraising competition where over 100 local businesses participate in a creative competition to raise funds, collect food donations and volunteer. The 2020 two-week campaign was held in mid-October and focused on helping to relieve families' financial burdens and stress affected by COVID-19.
2020 was the third year The Walsh Group participated in Food Frenzy. In addition to fundraising and volunteer efforts from the regional office, an internal competition was created between jobsites to raise additional funds and donations. In total, Walsh teams raised over $24,000, shattering its goal by over 50 percent. Walsh's Seattle-based Trailside Student Housing project team was especially impressive, raising over $12,000 and collecting more than 2,200 canned food items
"Food Frenzy is a great way to give back to the local community,” said Jackie Corley, marketing manager at The Walsh Group, “We're thankful for our employees, subcontractors and clients who help us support Food Lifeline throughout the entire year to fight hunger in western Washington.”
