The Walsh Group promotes Tim Gerken to Chief Financial Officer/Chief Business Officer
CHICAGO - The Walsh Group, one of the largest contractors in North America, has announced the promotion of Tim Gerken to Chief Financial Officer/Chief Business Officer (CFO/CBO). Gerken has served as the firm’s CFO for the past 14 years, and the recent promotion adds the role and responsibilities of Chief Business Officer to his title.
As CFO/CBO, Gerken will provide executive leadership, strategic planning, execution, and oversight of corporate administrative, financial, and operations management of The Walsh Group.
Gerken has more than 30 years of experience, with the last 18 years employed by The Walsh Group. Serving as the firm’s CFO since 2008, Gerken has overseen the financial growth of the company into a business with annual revenues in excess of $5 billion.
The added role of CBO expands Gerken’s leadership responsibilities to also include senior executive oversight of the Accounting, Budgeting, Career Development, Equipment, Communications, Compensation, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Risk Management, and Tax Management Departments.

As CFO/CBO, Gerken will also monitor and oversee the company’s corporate performance metrics, along with data management, integration, automation and analytics. He will continue working closely with ownership and the senior leadership team to drive all business aspects of the profitable long-range planning of the company, as well as maintain all responsibilities assumed in the CFO role.
Gerken attended the University of Notre Dame, where he studied business administration and received a bachelor and master’s degree, respectively.
