Archer Western and City of Hutto break ground on South Wastewater Treatment Plant
Hutto, Texas – Archer Western joined The City of Hutto to celebrate the formal groundbreaking on the expansion of the South Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Project. The overall project will expand the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant capacity from 2.5 MGD to 6.0 MGD in order to support the continued growth of the city of Hutto, along with its environmentally friendly development.
Being built by Archer Western and designed by Garver Engineers, LLC., the crucial expansion will include converting the Wastewater Treatment Plant from a sequencing bath reactor (SBR) process to an anaerobic-anoxic-aerobic (A2) process, in order to help remove harmful nutrients from the wastewater and help keep the creek clean. Concurrently, this new technology will also allow the city to treat wastewater for re-use. The project is anticipated to be complete in December 2026.
