McDonough, Georgia - The Walnut Creek Water Reclamation Facility, also known as "the backbone of Henry County's sewerage system" is undergoing a 6 MGD expansion being led by Archer Western and joint venture partner PC Construction. The project will feature a new membrane bioreactor (MBR) treatment plant that will meet or exceeds all EPA standards. Archer Western will also construct a new chemicals storage facility, autothermal aerobic digester (ATAD) facility, solids dewatering building, and laboratory for onsite workers. Henry County Water Authority states that the new addition to the Walnut Creek Facility will reflect advancements in wastewater treatment technologies, as wastewater treated through the membranes and other advanced processes will allow the Authority to discharge directly into the nearby South River, because of how clean that wastewater will be at the end of the treatment cycle.
