Walsh Construction and BOWA Construction complete The Dylan, a new 30-story high-rise in Chicago’s Fulton Market
Chicago, Illinois – Walsh Construction and BOWA Construction have completed The Dylan (formerly 160 N. Morgan), a new 30-story luxury residential high-rise in Chicago’s Fulton Market District.
Walsh Construction and BOWA Construction partnered with bKL Architecture to deliver the 340,000-gross-square-foot building to real estate developer Sterling Bay and investor Ascentris. Walsh and BOWA led the project team, along with design and subcontractor partners in the completion of 282 rental apartments spanning from 526 to 1,669 square feet per unit, in addition to nearly 3,000 square feet of ground-level retail.

“The Walsh/Bowa team is proud to successfully deliver the newest destination for luxury living in Fulton Market,” said Jeff Pezza, Vice President at Walsh Construction. “The Dylan was designed and constructed to the highest standards in safety and quality, and we are grateful to Sterling Bay and Ascentris for the opportunity and their collaboration from concept to completion.”
The Dylan’s exterior includes mixed masonry with red glass accents influenced by the aesthetics of the surrounding neighborhood. A prominent design component along the building’s southern section features the tower extending over the podium, supported by two Y-shaped columns. Artistic murals by local artists Kate Lewis and Emmy Star Brown are prominently displayed to enhance the building’s character.

The residential tower encompasses a variety of apartment styles with floor-to-ceiling windows, high-end fixtures, wide-plank flooring and exposed architectural concrete ceilings to enhance the building’s style while providing tenants with sophisticated living and signature amenities.
The completion of The Dylan adds to Walsh Construction’s portfolio of recent work in Fulton Market, including the new construction of 318 N. Carpenter and renovations at 932 W. Randolph.
