For over four decades, the Etobicoke General Hospital has provided care for its community. Its recent transformation into a state-of-the-art facility for the 21st century will enable its care providers to deliver patient-inspired healthcare for years to come. The new Patient Tower adds approximately 250,000 square feet of space to the existing facility, including services urgently needed by the community as well as a new central entrance, atrium and amenity space for patients, visitors and staff. New and expanded services include: a larger emergency department; a new ICU/CCU department four times the size of the previous space; larger patient rooms; a new maternal newborn unit with birthing suites; and an ambulatory procedures unit featuring procedure and operating rooms, pre- and post-operative preparation and recovery areas, and a respiratory clinic.
