The project consisted of the construction of drilled shaft foundations, anchor piers, tower piers for a three-span, extra-dosed cable-stayed-superstructure bridge over the Quinnipiac River. Carrying 10 lanes of traffic, the main span length is 1,000 feet, and total length of the finished structure is 4,265 feet. This project is phased in three stages to accommodate traffic shifts, and also includes miscellaneous utilities, retaining walls, disposal of hazardous materials and demolition of the existing structure.
