VA Secretary Robert McDonald visits VA Loma Linda Healthcare Center project
REDLANDS, Calif. - Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert (Bob) McDonald visited the VA Loma Linda Healthcare Center project for a site tour on Jan. 27. Secretary McDonald praised the Public Private Partnership Program (P3) and Walsh Construction’s effort on the Loma Linda Healthcare Center project. A formal press conference was held following the tour, and Secretary McDonald delivered a speech, which was transmitted over the VA network. The Secretary then took questions from the press and outlined his vision for transforming the VA and its service groups nationally.
Members from the Walsh Team had time to meet privately with Secretary McDonald after the press conference and plan a visit to Washington, DC to provide The Secretary and his leadership team with ideas on ways the private sector can assist the VA achieve its program goals and objectives.
The $117 million lease-back project is slated to be completed at the end of this year.
