The Walsh Group Co-Sponsors Vertical City at 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial
CHICAGO - The Walsh Group has announced it is serving as a co-sponsor in the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial.
The Walsh Group, one of Chicago's largest contractors, is co-sponsoring Vertical City, an exhibition in the Yates Gallery of the Chicago Cultural Center. Vertical City will pay homage to the 1922 architectural competition that ultimately selected the design of the internationally renowned Tribune Tower. The exhibit will feature a modern-day revival contest that includes 15 competing models, each 16 feet tall, designed by emerging architects who were invited to re-imagine the famous competition.
The Chicago Architecture Biennial is the largest architecture and design exhibition in North America, showcasing the transformative global impact of creativity and innovation in these fields. The 2017 Biennial features over 141 practitioners from more than 20 countries addressing the 2017 theme “Make New History.” The main exhibition is free and open to the public from September 16, 2017 through January 7, 2018.
"We're thrilled to be part of this wonderful event that will celebrate Chicago's rich architectural history and offer an extended glimpse into its exciting future," said Dan Walsh, co-chairman of The Walsh Group.
Founded in Chicago, The Walsh Group's history dates back to 1898, and the company is currently in its fourth generation of family-owned leadership.
