City of Scottsdale selects Archer Western to build reverse osmosis treatment building
SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The City of Scottsdale has chosen Archer Western as Construction Manager at Risk to provide design and construction phase services at the Thomas Groundwater Treatment Facility. Archer Western will work with Water Works Engineers on the 20-month project that will deliver a one million gallons per day potable reverse osmosis system.
The $15 million project will feature a new building which will contain office facilities for operations staff and the 1 MGD reverse osmosis system. The building will house the reverse osmosis process equipment, chemical and pre-treatment systems, a laboratory, conference room, electrical and control rooms, locker rooms and maintenance shops. The building will provide support functions for both the groundwater treatment facility and an adjacent existing Central Groundwater Treatment Facility.
The reverse osmosis systems will allow treatment of Scottsdale's individual well water quality and reduce total dissolved solids and hardness concentrations.
Archer Western is part of The Walsh Group, the No.1 ranked Water Treatment and Desalination Plant Contractor since 2014, according to Engineering News-Record magazine. Archer Western has been delivering a variety of water treatment construction services for the City of Scottsdale over the last 15 years.
