TYSONS CORNER, VA - Archer Western has completed construction on the Jones Branch Connector over the I-495 Capital Beltway. The four-lane road bridge connects the I-495/Jones Branch Drive interchange to Scotts Crossing Road and provides an important new link to Route 123 for commuters and visitors to Tysons Corner, home to numerous corporate headquarters and two super-regional shopping center. The Jones Branch Connector is an alternate route across the Capital Beltway that connects the Tysons East and Central areas, and will relieve traffic along Route 123, at the I-495 interchange, and at other regularly congested areas. The Virginia Department of Transportation's half-mile project includes two travel lanes and bike lanes in each direction, three bridges over the I-495 Express and general-purpose lanes, 8- to 12-foot-wide lighted sidewalks with landscaping, and a wide, raised median to accommodate the future Tysons transit bus.
