Walsh Construction completes Artis Senior Living of Wilmette, a 3-story memory care community
Wilmette, IL – Artis Senior Living of Wilmette, a new memory care community developed, owned and operated by Artis Senior Living is planned to open spring of 2021 in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Built by Walsh Construction and designed by Fitzgerald Associates Architects, the $20 million community will provide a safe, thoughtfully designed environment for those with memory impairment to address wayfinding challenges, independence and safety for the residents.
The 65,000-square-foot senior living community is composed of a three-story structure containing 64 memory care suites for residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory-diminishing illnesses. The second and third floors feature separate "porches" leading to the memory care residence neighborhoods, along with separate living/dining rooms, pantries and laundry facilities. The second floor also contains a vast outdoor courtyard where the residents can access multiple enjoyable outdoor amenities. The entire community is secure and safe for exploring.
The environmentally conscious project was designed and constructed using sustainable best practices in an effort to achieve Green Globe certification, a structured assessment of the sustainability performance of the building and its impact on the surrounding community.
Artis Senior Living’s mission is to provide the finest care and best everyday life for those who are in need of Memory Care through individually designed programs combined with a compassionate dedication to each resident’s comfort and needs. Through this mission, associates, residents and families join together to create a haven of dignity, empowerment, well-being and comfort.
Artis Senior Living of Wilmette is the latest partnership between Walsh Construction and Artis Senior Living. Walsh completed construction on Artis Senior Living of Lakeview in October 2018, a 97,000-square-foot, five-story senior living community of the northside of Chicago.
