Second phase of western concourse opens at LaGuardia Airport Terminal B
New York, N.Y. – The second phase of the Western Concourse at LaGuardia Airport's Terminal B has opened with four new gates. The interior of the 218,000 square foot Western Concourse is now fully open. The newly opened gates allows for the airport to close the final gates of its original Central Terminal Building.
The new Terminal B is now more than 90 percent complete. With modern amenities, innovative design and family-friendly spaces, the new concourse showcases the vision to build a 21st century terminal that is a leader in guest experience, innovation and sustainability.
American Airlines primarily operates its flights out of the Western Concourse, which will also include a brand new 20,000-square-foot Admirals Club. Phase One of the new 350-plus seat lounge opens today. American plans for the club to be fully complete in Spring of 2022.
Walsh Construction and Skanska USA are operating as the design-build joint venture of Skanska-Walsh, responsible for the Terminal B's design and construction, in partnership with HOK and WSP, and brought on by LaGuardia Gateway Partners, the private developer and operator of Terminal B.
