Warsaw, Indiana – Lutheran Health Network is celebrating the expansion and renovation of its Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital (LKH), part of a $30 million capital improvement project.

A ribbon cutting ceremony officially opened and unveiled the hospital’s new features and spaces. The event welcomed community leaders, hospital executives, and medical staff, including members of the LKH board, city representatives, the local chamber of commerce, as well as general contractor Walsh Construction and designer MKM Architecture + Design.

The project features 25,700 square feet of new construction and significant renovations, including:

- An expanded, redesigned lobby with a new public entry
- Renovations to all patient rooms, public spaces, and nursing stations on the medical, surgical and intensive care units
- Updates to the hospital façade

Surgical services expansion and updates include:

- Expanded pre- and post-surgical bays with additional spaces for increased patient privacy and more room for family members to be with loved ones
- Renovations of an existing operating, enabling surgeons to handle more complex cases, allowing patients to be scheduled sooner and remain close to home when surgery is needed
- An expanded sterile processing area with new technology for faster equipment sterilization

"We are incredibly proud to have been a part of this transformative project at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital, which will greatly enhance healthcare services for Warsaw and the surrounding communities," said Eric Radloff, vice president of private healthcare at Walsh Construction. "This accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team and the strong bonds formed with local partners. We are grateful for the collaboration and support that has made this project a success and will benefit patients and families for years to come."

Dr. Brian Reichenbach, a medical staff member and LKH board of trustees member, commented on the importance of the upgrades: “The medical staff at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital has been committed to delivering quality healthcare services to our patients since 1976. This renovation and expansion make access to care more convenient and comfortable for our patients, visitors, doctors, and employees. The ongoing investment is a priority for the hospital, and we hope our patients are pleased with the improvements.”
