San Tan Valley, Arizona - Archer Western has completed EPCOR's new Copper Basin Water Reclamation Facility, a 3 MGD wastewater treatment facility that will treat domestic, industrial and commercial waste prior to discharge. The treated water will be distributed to recharge the basin or for beneficial reuse. Built by Archer Western, the highly anticipated facility was crucial to San Tan Valley due to their fragile water condition and the reliability of the existing infrastructure to support residences and businesses. The new and improved facility will also support the rapidly growing population of Pinal County. The fully-enclosed facility contains state-of-the-art odor control equipment, extensive systems to monitor conditions and other important design features. Copper Basin will use treatment technologies that meet the ADEQ's Best Available Demonstrated Control Technology (BADCT) requirements. The plant will also meet setback standards, be fully and safely enclosed, and will not be accessible via neighborhood streets. All noise-generating equipment will be contained in either a building or a sound-attenuation enclosure to provide sound mitigation. The facility is set to play a critical role in San Tan Valley’s water management strategy and the area’s capacity for water treatment and recycling, supporting the community’s growth and sustainability goals.
