Archer Western achieves substantial completion of Baggage Handling System Consolidation Project at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport
Sarasota, FL – Archer Western has achieved Substantial Completion of the Baggage Handling System Consolidation Project at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), marking a significant milestone in enhancing the airport’s efficiency, capacity, and reliability.
Over the course of 25 months and 15 phases of construction, Archer Western, in collaboration with its project partners, successfully modernized SRQ’s baggage handling system to meet the demands of one of the nation’s fastest-growing airports. The project included the installation of more than 3,200 feet of new conveyor, consolidating three aging baggage systems into a single, high-capacity operation—boosting screening capacity by 325%.
This achievement further strengthens Archer Western’s extensive experience in delivering baggage handling system upgrades at major airports across the country, including Houston International Airport, Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
