Archer Western Construction awarded preconstruction services contract for Central Arizona Project (CAP) Aqueduct Hydrology Improvement CMAR Project

Phoenix, AZ – Archer Western Construction, a leading construction services provider with a proven record of delivering complex infrastructure projects, has been awarded a preconstruction services contract for the Central Arizona Project (CAP) Aqueduct Hydrology Improvement CMAR Project by the Central Arizona Water Conservation District (CAWCD).

The preconstruction services contract will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of upcoming improvements aimed at mitigating flood risks within the CAP aqueduct system. Archer Western Construction will provide progressive design support, constructability reviews, planning and scheduling to lay the foundation for the successful delivery of the project.

The scope of preconstruction services includes:

1. Design phase assistance, including progressive design process support.
2. Constructability reviews for drawings and specifications.
3. Planning and scheduling, including construction phasing.
4. Evaluation of alternative systems and constructability reviews.
5. Advising CAWCD on methods to improve project delivery efficiencies.
6. Long lead procurement studies and procurement of long-lead items.
7. Major subcontractor and supplier selection.
8. Detailed cost estimating, value engineering, and market conditions assessments.
9. Construction cost estimates at various design stages.

The work will provide vital flood protection measures and ensure the continued functionality and safety of the CAP aqueduct system, a critical infrastructure component for water delivery in Arizona.
