Walsh Construction and VINCI Construction, performing work as Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners, will design and construct a 5.6-mile extension of the Red Line beginning at the 95th Street Terminal and continuing to the vicinity of 130th Street. In addition, a new rail yard and related rail facilities will be constructed to improve operational efficiency across the entire Red Line and CTA system. The extension will provide a long-awaited connection to jobs, education, and commerce while serving as a catalyst for economic growth and community development on Chicago’s South Side.
