The project consisted of improvements to the water treatment plant with new raw water metering, a rapid mix facility and a raw water splitter structure. Scope of work included new flocculation/sedimentation basins; rehab of existing filters and new dual-media filters; a granular activated carbon facility; a postflash chemical mixing facility; a chemical building to house acid storage and feed systems; an on-site sodium hypochlorite generation, storage and feed system; and a purate-based chlorine dioxide generation and feed system. Also included were a settled solids equalization basin and associated electrical building, a backwash equalization basin and associated electrical building, and modifications to an existing backwash recycle basin.
