Contract Value
$60,000,000
The project is a three-phase expansion of Wilmington’s primary fresh water treatment plant. Phase One consists of demolition of an original plant structure dating to the 1800s, where a new wash water equalization basin will be constructed. Phase Two will see the construction of the first half of the new South Plant: a super-pulsator clarifier system and a new bank of filters built at the location of the old wash water holding tank. A new high-service pump station on the east side of the plant will be constructed. Phase Three will include the demolition of the existing filtration/pumping/administration building, providing an area for the construction of a second super-pulsator clarifier system, a second bank of filters, a new UV treatment facility and a new administration building.
